Thank you for shopping with Hainst. This Payment Policy outlines the payment methods we accept, how transactions are processed, and your rights as a customer. By placing an order through our website, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods for all orders placed through our online store:
• American Express — credit and charge card payments accepted securely.
• Apple Pay — available on compatible Apple devices via Safari.
• Google Pay — available on supported Android devices and Chrome browser.
• Mastercard — credit and debit card payments accepted securely.
• PayPal — pay via your PayPal account or as a PayPal guest using a card.
• Shop Pay — accelerated checkout with optional pay-in-instalments (subject to eligibility and Affirm/Shopify terms).
• Visa — credit and debit card payments accepted securely.
2. Currency
All prices displayed on our website are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST) where applicable, in accordance with the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999. If you are purchasing from outside Australia, your bank or payment provider may apply a foreign currency conversion fee. Hainst is not responsible for any such fees.
3. Payment Processing and Security
All transactions are processed through Shopify Payments or the relevant third-party payment provider chosen at checkout. Our store uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to protect your payment information during transmission. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
Our payment processing practices are aligned with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which govern how we collect, use, and protect your personal and financial information.
4. Order Confirmation and Authorisation
Your order is not confirmed until payment has been successfully authorised. Once authorised, you will receive an order confirmation email to the address provided at checkout. Hainst reserves the right to cancel any order where payment cannot be verified or where fraudulent activity is suspected.
5. Buy Now, Pay Later (Shop Pay Instalments)
Shop Pay Instalments is offered through Shopify's partnership with Affirm. This service is subject to eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of the instalment provider. Hainst is not a credit provider and bears no responsibility for any decisions made by the instalment provider. We encourage customers to review the terms of any buy now, pay later arrangement before completing a purchase.
6. Refunds and Chargebacks
Refunds are processed in accordance with our Refund Policy and Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider, typically between 3 and 10 business days.
If you believe an unauthorised transaction has occurred, please contact us immediately at customercare@hainst.com and also notify your bank or payment provider.
7. Failed or Declined Payments
If your payment is declined, your order will not be processed. Please check that your payment details are entered correctly and that your card or account has sufficient funds. For further assistance, contact your bank or payment provider directly. Hainst is not liable for any fees or consequences resulting from a declined transaction.
8. Fraud Prevention
To protect our customers and business, all orders are subject to fraud screening. We reserve the right to request additional verification before processing an order and to cancel orders that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent. Any suspected fraud may be reported to the relevant authorities in accordance with Australian law.
